TOEFL iBT : Tips & Tricks 2

Let's continue TOEFL iBT Tips & Tricks from last blog. The remaining sections are listening, speaking and writing sections.

This is the easiest section!! No need to worry. They speak very clear and not too much fast.
Preparation: You need not to be able to understand English in movies (because now I myself still don't understand 555) but you should be able to understand formal English. Try to listen to formal English such as CNN, Discovery Channel, History Channel. For me, I prefer listening to audiobooks. (You can download them via torrents or ... ask me 555) Also, I think listening to Podcast is another interesting practice. And finally do a lot of exercises.
Tricks: Nothing much... Just try to concentrate. Meditation and praying Chinnabunchorn will help :D

Um... what should I say... The speaking expertise is really hard to achieve in short period of time. If you don't have much time to prepare you can use my advise (of course, with no guarantee of results 5555)
Preparation: Memorize, memorize and memorize... Do all exercises you have, memorize the answers and speak them often. You should also remember answer pattern and structure for each kind of question. Try to think and memorize answer for general questions such as "What is your most favorite hobby?", "What kind of movie do you like?", etc.
Tricks: Do not pause too much while speaking. Try to speak all of allocated time. They said voice cut better than stop speaking before end of time.

Regarding integrated writing, each TOEFL book has its own answer patterns. For me, I prefer contrasting ideas from passage and listening by one idea per paragraph. This part is not so hard. The general topic writing is harder because of time limit. You must write very fast to finish it in time. Also, grammars are very important. You must remember grammars so well that you don't have to think about them much when writing.
Preparation: Try to remember a lot of collocations. Prepare essay and sentence patterns. I recommend that you think of answers for every topics before taking exam (just only 185 topics). Well... just ideas are enough ,but if you have time, try to outline them too. I have 2 ebooks that have example essays for all topics. You can ask me for them.
Tricks: Outline before writing is a must!!. Must leave some time to review and correct errors!!

Meditation and praying Chinnabanchorn can really help you concentrate on exam. To yield best result, when the test day is closing in, try to pray 9 times a day :D
